Stacey’s Sanctuary
We were honoured to play a small part in bringing Stacey’s Sanctuary to life – a safe, transitional home created for women impacted by family violence. The Sanctuary was founded with deep care, courage and intention by Sherele Moody, through her work with Australian Femicide Watch, and stands as a powerful tribute to Stacey’s life and legacy.
Sherele’s unwavering commitment to women’s safety, dignity and long-term wellbeing is profoundly inspiring, and closely reflects You Matter’s own values of compassion, respect and practical support. Together, we worked to furnish and set up the home with care – transforming an empty space into a warm, welcoming haven where women can pause, breathe, and begin rebuilding their lives with a sense of safety and hope.
This project would not have been possible without our incredible team of staff and volunteers, whose dedication, skill and heart are at the centre of everything we do. Their commitment to creating homes, not just houses, ensures that each space is filled with comfort, dignity and the reassurance that no one has to start again alone.
