Extraordinary community response

to the 2025 Book Giving Tree

You Matter is sincerely grateful to everyone who participated in the 2025 Book Giving Tree, delivered in partnership with the City of Boroondara.

Thanks to the generosity of the local community, we received more than 500 new books donated through Boroondara libraries during the campaign period. The response was truly extraordinary and reflects the compassion and care that exists within our community.

Books play an important role for women and children rebuilding their lives after family violence. They offer comfort, familiarity and a sense of escape, while also helping to create warm, welcoming spaces that feel like home. For children in particular, books can provide reassurance, routine and moments of joy during what is often a time of significant transition.

We are incredibly appreciative of everyone who donated, as well as the City of Boroondara and library teams for their ongoing support of this meaningful initiative. Together, we are helping women and children feel seen, valued and supported as they begin their next chapter.
