Leading up to International Women’s Day, Deborah de Rossi, CEO of You Matter, was interviewed by our principal partner, the Marshall White Foundation, about the work being done to support women and children rebuilding their lives after family violence.
International Women’s Day is often framed around ambition and advancement. At You Matter, it is also about security, dignity and the right to feel safe at home. Through the creation of fully furnished Havens of Hope, community, corporate and agency partners come together to transform empty properties into safe homes where women and children can begin again.
As this year’s theme reminds us, when we give together, we all gain – stronger families, better supported frontline services, and a community that refuses to look away.
