Haven Home Starter Packs
We are deeply committed to ensuring all Havens are fully furnished and thoughtfully equipped – homes that restore a sense of dignity, comfort, and hope, where women and children can begin to rebuild their lives, regain independence, and reconnect with their community. To ensure every woman and child enters a home that feels safe, comfortable, and dignified from day one, we include essential pantry, kitchen and cleaning staples as part of each Haven setup.
Unlike furniture and household goods, these everyday consumables are purchased by You Matter.
If you prefer to give goods rather than dollars; donating new, unused essentials is a powerful and practical way to help. You can choose to focus on one category (such as kitchen or cleaning), or contribute a mix of items across different categories from our Home Starter Pack list. Every contribution, no matter the size, plays a part in creating a complete and caring home environment.
Every small contribution adds up to something incredibly meaningful – a home that feels cared for, considered, and ready to welcome a family at a very vulnerable time.
Home Start Pack Guidelines
All items for the Home Starter Packs must be new and unused.
We are unable to accept out-of-date food items, or anything opened or partially used.
How to Donate
To donate items for a Home Starter Pack, please follow the steps below:
1. Email us at donategoods@youmatter.org.au with the following information:
Email subject line: ‘Home Starter Pack‘, Your name and suburb (e.g. Home Starter Pack, Jane Smith – Preston) ** VERY IMPORTANT **
In the body of the email, please include:
- A list of the item(s) and quantities you have purchased (you may donate items from one category or across multiple categories)
- Your mobile number
- Your preference for drop off (Abbotsford) or collection
- Your full address (for collection assessment)
Please attach a photo of the items if possible.
Our team will be in touch to coordinate collection or drop-off.
